Luke 9:1-6 New King James Version (NKJV)
Sending Out the Twelve
9 Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases. 2 He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. 3 And He said to them, “Take nothing for the journey, neither staffs nor bag nor bread nor money; and do not have two tunics apiece.
4 “Whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. 5 And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet as a testimony against them.”
6 So they departed and went through the towns, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere.
Jesus called his twelve apostles together. He gave them power to heal sicknesses and power to force demons out of people. He sent them to tell about God’s kingdom and to revive the ill and sick. To pray healing over the people and release of demons that have bondage to the people in Jesus name. He said to them, “When you travel, don’t take a walking stick don’t carry a bag, food, or money with you. Take for your trip only the clothes you are wearing. Nothing more or the journey and nothing less. When you go into a house, do not leave stay there until it is time to leave. If the people in the town will not welcome you, go outside the town and shake the dust off your feet as a warning to them, a testimony against them.”
So the apostles went out. They traveled through all the towns. They told the Good News and healed people everywhere doing as Jesus had informed them telling of Jesus words. To show of God’s authority that they may see and believe.
