Love One Another the greatest of all teachings

John 15:1-17
The Vine and the Branches
15 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
I am the true vine, and my father is the gardener. As the vinedresser he cuts off every part of me that bears bad fruit in sin, while the parts of me that bear fruit and flourish shall be even more abundant in fruit. Each of you is already clean in these words i have spoken to you. Remain in me and follow my lead and i also shall remain in you. No piece of me can bear good fruit on its own; it must grow as part in the vine. Neither can you live in the spirit but in me.
5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.
9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. 11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. 17 This is my command: Love each other.
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you shall follow my command you will have much in abundance. Yet if you don’t follow in my commandments you are like a branch that is thrown away and has withered and died these branches are picked up in piles and tossed amongst a fire to burn. If you shall remain in me and my studies in you, ask of your desires and it shall be given to you. This is my father’s glory, that you flourish and prosper bearing much fruit and showing that you are my followers, my disciples.
As my father has remained my guidance and shown faithfully his love to me, so have i also loved you so let me be your guidance also. If you keep in my word you will remain in my love, as i have kept my father’s commands and remained fruitful in love in him. I have shared this with you that my joy shall be in you and that you be filled completely in joy. I say to you this: love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this:to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. For you shall be my friends if you follow my words. I no longer shall call you servants , because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that my father have given me and taught me i have also taught you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. This is my command: Love each other.
The father wants us to remain in Christ as he has remained in the work of the father’s guidance. That we may learn the true example of love. Having a love relationship in him. He wants us to grow with and in him and his father as he has grown with his father. Christ wants is to have abundance of things we request of and from him that he will provide us with every need. He wants a true loving faithful relationship in him that he may teach us of his father’s word and his teachings and share the gospel stories with others. He doesn’t only want to be a mentor but also our friend in an intimate relationship in him. He wants to share all his knowledge that he was taught to teach us as he was by his father. Jesus wants to share all this and more with us so that we may be an example of god’s self and love and know love. For Jesus said “This is my command: love one another”
