God’s Promises Do Not Slack

End Time Series

1 Peter 3:1-18

“God’s Promise Is Not Slack (Gen. 6: 5—8: 22) 1Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which aI stir up your pure minds by way of reminder), 2that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, cand of the commandment of 1us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior, 3knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, dwalking according to their own lusts, Charts and Diagrams: Right Living in a Wretched World 4and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of ecreation.”

“5For this they willfully forget: that fby the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth gstanding out of water and in the water, 6hby which the world that then existed perished, being flooded with water. 7But ithe heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for jfire until the day of judgment and 2perdition of ungodly men. 8But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and ka thousand years as one day. 9lThe Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but mis longsuffering toward 3us, nnot willing that any should perish but othat all should come to repentance. The Day of the Lord 10But pthe day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which qthe heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.” “11Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be rin holy conduct and godliness, 12slooking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will tbe dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will umelt with fervent heat? 13Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for vnew heavens and a wnew earth in which righteousness dwells. Be Steadfast 14Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent xto be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; 15and consider that ythe longsuffering of our Lord is salvation—as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given to him, has written to you, 16as also in all his zepistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the arest of the Scriptures.”“17You therefore, beloved, bsince you know this beforehand, cbeware lest you also fall from your own steadfastness, being led away with the error of the wicked; 18dbut grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.”

1 Peter 3 The Message (MSG)

Cultivate Inner Beauty

3 1-4 The same goes for you wives: Be good wives to your husbands, responsive to their needs. There are husbands who, indifferent as they are to any words about God, will be captivated by your life of holy beauty. What matters is not your outer appearance—the styling of your hair, the jewelry you wear, the cut of your clothes—but your inner disposition.

4-6 Cultivate inner beauty, the gentle, gracious kind that God delights in. The holy women of old were beautiful before God that way, and were good, loyal wives to their husbands. Sarah, for instance, taking care of Abraham, would address him as “my dear husband.” You’ll be true daughters of Sarah if you do the same, unanxious and unintimidated.

7 The same goes for you husbands: Be good husbands to your wives. Honor them, delight in them. As women they lack some of your advantages. But in the new life of God’s grace, you’re equals. Treat your wives, then, as equals so your prayers don’t run aground.

Suffering for Doing Good

8-12 Summing up: Be agreeable, be sympathetic, be loving, be compassionate, be humble. That goes for all of you, no exceptions. No retaliation. No sharp-tongued sarcasm. Instead, bless—that’s your job, to bless. You’ll be a blessing and also get a blessing.

Whoever wants to embrace life

and see the day fill up with good,

Here’s what you do:

    Say nothing evil or hurtful;

Snub evil and cultivate good;

run after peace for all you’re worth.

God looks on all this with approval,

    listening and responding well to what he’s asked;

But he turns his back

on those who do evil things.

13-18 If with heart and soul you’re doing good, do you think you can be stopped? Even if you suffer for it, you’re still better off. Don’t give the opposition a second thought. Through thick and thin, keep your hearts at attention, in adoration before Christ, your Master. Be ready to speak up and tell anyone who asks why you’re living the way you are, and always with the utmost courtesy. Keep a clear conscience before God so that when people throw mud at you, none of it will stick. They’ll end up realizing that they’re the ones who need a bath. It’s better to suffer for doing good, if that’s what God wants, than to be punished for doing bad. That’s what Christ did definitively: suffered because of others’ sins, the Righteous One for the unrighteous ones. He went through it all—was put to death and then made alive—to bring us to God.

Deuteronomy 4:30 New Living Translation (NLT)

30 “In the distant future, when you are suffering all these things, you will finally return to the Lord your God and listen to what he tells you.

Deuteronomy 4:30-31 The Message (MSG)

29-31 But even there, if you seek God, your God, you’ll be able to find him if you’re serious, looking for him with your whole heart and soul. When troubles come and all these awful things happen to you, in future days you will come back to God, your God, and listen obediently to what he says. God, your God, is above all a compassionate God. In the end he will not abandon you, he won’t bring you to ruin, he won’t forget the covenant with your ancestors which he swore to them.

In the end day if you want to save yourself and accept the relationship with Christ saving yourself from all your sinful desires and excepting the gift God has already chosen for us as sinners then you shall seek and you will find him looking wholeheartedly in all seriousness with an open heart. For throughout these trials and tribulations our only option is to turn to him and ask guidance and put our hope and trust in him as that is what he wants and honestly no one else but God and he have the answers. So when your suffering all these things, you will finally return to the Lord your God and listen to what he tells you.

Micah 4:1 New Living Translation (NLT)

The Lord’s Future Reign

In the last days, the mountain of the Lord’s house

will be the highest of all—

the most important place on earth.

It will be raised above the other hills,

and people from all over the world will stream there to worship.

Micah 4:1-4 The Message (MSG)

The Making of God’s People

1-4 But when all is said and done,

    God’s Temple on the mountain,

Firmly fixed, will dominate all mountains,

    towering above surrounding hills.

People will stream to it

and many nations set out for it,

Saying, “Come, let’s climb God’s mountain.

Let’s go to the Temple of Jacob’s God.

He will teach us how to live.

We’ll know how to live God’s way.”

True teaching will issue from Zion,

    God’s revelation from Jerusalem.

He’ll establish justice in the rabble of nations

and settle disputes in faraway places.

They’ll trade in their swords for shovels,

their spears for rakes and hoes.

Nations will quit fighting each other,

quit learning how to kill one another.

Each man will sit under his own shade tree,

each woman in safety will tend her own garden.

God-of-the-Angel-Armies says so,

and he means what he says.

In the day of the lord the mountain of the Lord’s house will be established on and shall be exalted above the highest hills. It will be the highest of all and most important place on earth. All from all nations and worldly places will come from all over the world from everywhere will come to worship

The Future Of Humanity

Mark 13 New Living Translation (NLT)

Jesus Speaks about the Future

13 As Jesus was leaving the Temple that day, one of his disciples said, “Teacher, look at these magnificent buildings! Look at the impressive stones in the walls.”

2 Jesus replied, “Yes, look at these great buildings. But they will be completely demolished. Not one stone will be left on top of another!”

3 Later, Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives across the valley from the Temple. Peter, James, John, and Andrew came to him privately and asked him, 4 “Tell us, when will all this happen? What sign will show us that these things are about to be fulfilled?”

5 Jesus replied, “Don’t let anyone mislead you, 6 for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’[a] They will deceive many. 7 And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately. 8 Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in many parts of the world, as well as famines. But this is only the first of the birth pains, with more to come.

9 “When these things begin to happen, watch out! You will be handed over to the local councils and beaten in the synagogues. You will stand trial before governors and kings because you are my followers. But this will be your opportunity to tell them about me.[b] 10 For the Good News must first be preached to all nations.[c] 11 But when you are arrested and stand trial, don’t worry in advance about what to say. Just say what God tells you at that time, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit.

12 “A brother will betray his brother to death, a father will betray his own child, and children will rebel against their parents and cause them to be killed. 13 And everyone will hate you because you are my followers.[d] But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

14 “The day is coming when you will see the sacrilegious object that causes desecration[e] standing where he[f] should not be.” (Reader, pay attention!) “Then those in Judea must flee to the hills. 15 A person out on the deck of a roof must not go down into the house to pack. 16 A person out in the field must not return even to get a coat. 17 How terrible it will be for pregnant women and for nursing mothers in those days. 18 And pray that your flight will not be in winter. 19 For there will be greater anguish in those days than at any time since God created the world. And it will never be so great again. 20 In fact, unless the Lord shortens that time of calamity, not a single person will survive. But for the sake of his chosen ones he has shortened those days.

21 “Then if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah,’ or ‘There he is,’ don’t believe it. 22 For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones. 23 Watch out! I have warned you about this ahead of time!

24 “At that time, after the anguish of those days,

the sun will be darkened,

the moon will give no light,

25

the stars will fall from the sky,

and the powers in the heavens will be shaken.[g]

26 Then everyone will see the Son of Man[h] coming on the clouds with great power and glory.[i] 27 And he will send out his angels to gather his chosen ones from all over the world[j]—from the farthest ends of the earth and heaven.

28 “Now learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branches bud and its leaves begin to sprout, you know that summer is near. 29 In the same way, when you see all these things taking place, you can know that his return is very near, right at the door. 30 I tell you the truth, this generation[k] will not pass from the scene before all these things take place. 31 Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.

32 “However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows. 33 And since you don’t know when that time will come, be on guard! Stay alert[l]!

34 “The coming of the Son of Man can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. When he left home, he gave each of his slaves instructions about the work they were to do, and he told the gatekeeper to watch for his return. 35 You, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know when the master of the household will return—in the evening, at midnight, before dawn, or at daybreak. 36 Don’t let him find you sleeping when he arrives without warning. 37 I say to you what I say to everyone: Watch for him!”

As Jesus was leaving the Temple that day, one of his disciples said, “Teacher, look at these magnificent buildings! Look at the impressive stones in the walls.”

Jesus replied, “Yes, look at such amazing buildings. But they will be in complete ruin not one stone left intact. Not one stone will be left on top of another!”

Later, Jesus sat on the Mount of Olives across the valley from the Temple. Peter, James, John, and Andrew came to him privately and asked him, “Tell us, when will all this happen? What sign will show us that these things are about to be fulfilled?”

Jesus replied, “Don’t let anyone fool you, for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah.’[a] They will deceive many. These people will be of evil and truly make people believe they say who they are they will have power to do miracles but they are false prophets. And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but do not panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately all that I say will be fulfilled.

Nation will go to war against nation, they will conflict each other and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in many parts of the world, as well as famines. But this is only the first of the beginning, with more to come.

“When these things begin to happen, watch out! You will be handed over to the local councils and beaten in the synagogues. You will stand trial before governors and kings because you are my followers. Those in worldly law and government will hate you because you are my followers. But this will be your opportunity to tell them about me witnessing the good news in my name. For the Good News must first be preached to all nations.

In our times right now that’s being done by the internet. Jesus continues to say when you are arrested and stand trial, don’t worry in advance about what to say. Just say what God tells you at that time, for God will lay on your heart and spirit the words to reply, for it is not you who will be speaking, but the Holy Spirit.

“A brother will betray his brother to death, a father will betray his own child, and children will rebel against their parents and cause them to be killed. And everyone will hate you because you are my followers. But the one who stays faithful to the end will be saved. The day is coming when you will see the blasphemous object that causes desecration standing where he should not be.” (Reader, pay attention!) They will be sinful and godless during these times. Then those in Judea must flee to the hills. A person out on the deck of a roof must not go down into the house to pack. A person out in the field must not return even to get a coat. How terrible it will be for pregnant women and for nursing mothers in those days. And pray that your flight will not be in winter. For there will be greater anguish in those days than at any time since God created the world. And it will never be so great again. Nothing will be as it was, nothing will be the same. In those days there will be tragic and horrific horrible things done. Things which no one can or will escape. Ruler and government and those in their own sin and desire and of worldly law will be severely punished while those who are faithfully trusting God will be spared and saved and taken to God’s kingdom.

In fact, unless the Lord shortens that time of calamity, not a single person will survive. But for the sake of his chosen ones he has shortened those days.

“Then if anyone tells you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah,’ or ‘There he is,’ don’t believe it. For it false prophecy. For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones. Watch out! I have warned you about this ahead of time! I have informed you so that you may see the warnings and recognize the signs.

“At that time, after the anguish of those days,

the sun will be darkened,

the moon will give no light,

the stars will fall from the sky,

and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. For God will be bitterly disappointed and extremely anger and wrath will happen.

Then everyone will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds with great power and glory. And he will send out his angels to gather his chosen ones from all over the world. From the farthest ends of the earth and heaven.

“Now learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branches bud and its leaves begin to sprout, you know that summer is near. In the same way, when you see all these things taking place, you can know that his return is very near, right at the door. I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass from the scene before all these things take place. It all has been foretold by God that it must happen this way first. Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.

“However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself. Only the Father knows. And since you don’t know when that time will come, be on guard! Stay alert! He will only come once, you should remain everyday in preparation that in that hour could be the moment of his return that you are ready. In the same ways that one would be prepare days before to go into labor. It is in the same way that we need to be ready.

“The coming of the Son of Man can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. When he left home, he gave each of his slaves instructions about the work they were to do, and he told the gatekeeper to watch for his return. You, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know when the master of the household will return—in the evening, at midnight, before dawn, or at daybreak. Don’t let him find you sleeping when he arrives without warning. If you are not prepared and ready waiting for him to be let in at the door he will not wait or give a second chance. Those not ready and prepared will not be saved and taken with him, these will be the left behind. I say to you what I say to everyone: Watch for him!” Be waiting and ready faithfully.

The Seven Bowls Of God’s Anger

End Time Series

Revelation 16 New Living Translation (NLT)

16 Then I heard a mighty voice from the Temple say to the seven angels, “Go your ways and pour out on the earth the seven bowls containing God’s wrath.”

2 So the first angel left the Temple and poured out his bowl on the earth, and horrible, malignant sores broke out on everyone who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his statue.

3 Then the second angel poured out his bowl on the sea, and it became like the blood of a corpse. And everything in the sea died.

4 Then the third angel poured out his bowl on the rivers and springs, and they became blood. 5 And I heard the angel who had authority over all water saying,

“You are just, O Holy One, who is and who always was,

because you have sent these judgments.

Since they shed the blood

of your holy people and your prophets,

you have given them blood to drink.

    It is their just reward.”

7 And I heard a voice from the altar,[a] saying,

“Yes, O Lord God, the Almighty,

your judgments are true and just.”

8 Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, causing it to scorch everyone with its fire. 9 Everyone was burned by this blast of heat, and they cursed the name of God, who had control over all these plagues. They did not repent of their sins and turn to God and give him glory.

10 Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom was plunged into darkness. His subjects ground their teeth[b] in anguish, 11 and they cursed the God of heaven for their pains and sores. But they did not repent of their evil deeds and turn to God.

12 Then the sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great Euphrates River, and it dried up so that the kings from the east could march their armies toward the west without hindrance. 13 And I saw three evil[c] spirits that looked like frogs leap from the mouths of the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet. 14 They are demonic spirits who work miracles and go out to all the rulers of the world to gather them for battle against the Lord on that great judgment day of God the Almighty.

15 “Look, I will come as unexpectedly as a thief! Blessed are all who are watching for me, who keep their clothing ready so they will not have to walk around naked and ashamed.”

16 And the demonic spirits gathered all the rulers and their armies to a place with the Hebrew name Armageddon.[d]

17 Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air. And a mighty shout came from the throne in the Temple, saying, “It is finished!” 18 Then the thunder crashed and rolled, and lightning flashed. And a great earthquake struck—the worst since people were placed on the earth. 19 The great city of Babylon split into three sections, and the cities of many nations fell into heaps of rubble. So God remembered all of Babylon’s sins, and he made her drink the cup that was filled with the wine of his fierce wrath. 20 And every island disappeared, and all the mountains were leveled. 21 There was a terrible hailstorm, and hailstones weighing as much as seventy-five pounds[e] fell from the sky onto the people below. They cursed God because of the terrible plague of the hailstorm.

————————————————————-

John the apostle says in Revelations 16

Then I heard a loud voice from the temple. It said to the seven angels, “Go and pour out the seven bowls of God’s anger on the earth.”

The first angel left. He poured out his bowl on the land. Then all those who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped its idol got several severe malignant sores that were ugly and painful amongst their body.

The second angel went off and poured out his bowl on the sea. Then the sea became red like a dead man’s blood. And everything living in the sea perished and died.

The third angel left out and poured out his bowl on the rivers and the springs of water. The rivers and the springs of water became blood red also. Then I heard the angel of the waters say to God,

“You are the one who is and who always was.

    You are the Holy One.

You are right in these judgments you have made.

The people have spilled the blood

of your holy people and your prophets.

Now you have given those people blood to drink.

    This is what they deserve.”

And I heard the altar say,

“Yes, Lord God All-Powerful,

your judgments are true and right.”

The fourth angel then also poured out his bowl this time on the sun. The sun was given power to burn the people with fire. The people were burned by the great heat. They damned the name of God, who had control over these plagues. But they refused to change their hearts and lives and give glory to God and refocus on the faith they knew.

The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast. And darkness covered the beast’s kingdom. People bit their tongues because of the pain. They cursed the God of heaven because of their painful sores they had. But they refused to change their hearts and turn away from the evil things they did.

The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river Euphrates. The water in the river dried up. This was so that the Kong’s coming from the east could march their armies from the west in battle. This prepared the way for the rulers from the east to come. Then I saw three evil spirits that looked like frogs. They came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. These evil spirits are the spirits of demons. They have power to do miracles. They go out to the rulers of the whole world to gather them for battle on the great day of God All-Powerful.

Listen! I will come at a time you don’t expect, like a thief in the night. Great blessings belong to those who stay awake and keep their clothes with them. They will not have to go naked and be ashamed for people to see them.”

Then the evil spirits gathered the rulers and armies together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.

Then this seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air. Then a loud voice came out of the temple from the throne. It said, “It is finished!” Then there were flashes of lightning, noises, thunder, and a big earthquake. This was the greatest earthquake that has ever happened since people have been on earth. The great city split into three parts. The cities of the nations were destroyed. There was nothing left but rubbish and debris. God did not forget to punish Babylon the for their great sins . He gave that city the cup filled with the wine of his terrible anger. Every island disappeared and there were no more mountains. Giant hailstones fell on the people from the sky. These hailstones weighed almost 100 pounds each. People damned God because of this plague and of the hail. It was terrible. There would be no escape from that damage and disaster that had been done from God’s wrath. It was over.

11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.

Gear down in the word of God so that you will be able to stand firm against all evil and strategies of Satan. He will come when you least expect it and when your not watching. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. These will be enemies you may not recognize until it’s too late so have a high awareness and be alert. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. The Coming Time

Luke 21 New Living Translation (NLT)

The Widow’s Offering

21 While Jesus was in the Temple, he watched the rich people dropping their gifts in the collection box. 2 Then a poor widow came by and dropped in two small coins.

3 “I tell you the truth,” Jesus said, “this poor widow has given more than all the rest of them. 4 For they have given a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she has.”

Jesus Speaks about the Future

5 Some of his disciples began talking about the majestic stonework of the Temple and the memorial decorations on the walls. But Jesus said, 6 “The time is coming when all these things will be completely demolished. Not one stone will be left on top of another!”

7 “Teacher,” they asked, “when will all this happen? What sign will show us that these things are about to take place?”

8 He replied, “Don’t let anyone mislead you, for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’and saying, ‘The time has come!’ But don’t believe them. 9 And when you hear of wars and insurrections, don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place first, but the end won’t follow immediately.” 10 Then he added, “Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. 11 There will be great earthquakes, and there will be famines and plagues in many lands, and there will be terrifying things and great miraculous signs from heaven.

12 “But before all this occurs, there will be a time of great persecution. You will be dragged into synagogues and prisons, and you will stand trial before kings and governors because you are my followers. 13 But this will be your opportunity to tell them about me. 14 So don’t worry in advance about how to answer the charges against you, 15 for I will give you the right words and such wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to reply or refute you! 16 Even those closest to you—your parents, brothers, relatives, and friends—will betray you. They will even kill some of you. 17 And everyone will hate you because you are my followers.18 But not a hair of your head will perish! 19 By standing firm, you will win your souls.

20 “And when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then you will know that the time of its destruction has arrived. 21 Then those in Judea must flee to the hills. Those in Jerusalem must get out, and those out in the country should not return to the city. 22 For those will be days of God’s vengeance, and the prophetic words of the Scriptures will be fulfilled. 23 How terrible it will be for pregnant women and for nursing mothers in those days. For there will be disaster in the land and great anger against this people. 24 They will be killed by the sword or sent away as captives to all the nations of the world. And Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles until the period of the Gentiles comes to an end.

25 “And there will be strange signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides. 26 People will be terrified at what they see coming upon the earth, for the powers in the heavens will be shaken. 27 Then everyone will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud with power and great glory.28 So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near!”

29 Then he gave them this illustration: “Notice the fig tree, or any other tree. 30 When the leaves come out, you know without being told that summer is near. 31 In the same way, when you see all these things taking place, you can know that the Kingdom of God is near. 32 I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass from the scene until all these things have taken place. 33 Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.

34 “Watch out! Don’t let your hearts be dulled by carousing and drunkenness, and by the worries of this life. Don’t let that day catch you unaware, 35 like a trap. For that day will come upon everyone living on the earth. 36 Keep alert at all times. And pray that you might be strong enough to escape these coming horrors and stand before the Son of Man.”

37 Every day Jesus went to the Temple to teach, and each evening he returned to spend the night on the Mount of Olives. 38 The crowds gathered at the Temple early each morning to hear him.

Jesus had been in the temple and he watched as all the rich people dropped their donation offerings in a collection box. When he saw a poor widow come by and give the only gift she could afford of two small coins. Jesus then said to everyone I tell you the truth this poor widow has donated more than anyone else. For the rest have given a tiny part of their excess, but this poor women has given all that she has. God doesn’t like boastful people and money hungry people. Although he does request offerings to be given in faithful ways. He will except the offering no matter who gives. Though some of us may feel we don’t have anything or even enough to give god because we are living pay check to paycheck or getting by with scraps. Jesus accepts your gift no matter how wealthy or poor you are. If you are poor and only have a penny to your name then give it he finds that more influential then those who are rich for they have all the money and waste it much of the time, while the poor live by scraps and low wages having barely anything and offer up what they have that they will need later. For that is all she had.

Some of his disciples began talking about the majestic stonework of the Temple and the memorial decorations lining the walls. But Jesus said, “The time is coming when all these things will be completely demolished. Not one stone will be left on top of another!”

The day of the lord is upon us and all will be wiped out, nothing will last or remain.

When the deciples heard Jesus speak of this they confronted him saying “Teacher,” they asked, “when will all this happen? What sign will show us that these things are about to take place?”

Jesus replied, “Don’t let anyone mislead you, for many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’and saying, ‘The time has come!’ But don’t believe them. And when you hear of wars and insurrections, don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place first, but the end won’t follow immediately.” Then he added, “Nation will go to war against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, and there will be famines and plagues in many lands, and there will be terrifying things and great miraculous signs from heaven.

For no one knows where or when or how the day of the Lord will happen but Jesus warns us that there will be men claiming his name saying they were him and not to fall for their foolish lies. When the day comes we as Believers will know the time as come as the Holy Spirit will guide us and there will be signs and weird phenomena that takes place in the sky and seas. When it happens there will be a lot of fear and people turning to their faith for answers. There will be great numbers of famine, plagues and disease and many earthquakes in large numbers around the world. Yet you will recognize the miraculous signs from heaven for all these things must happen before the day of the lord comes.

“But before all this occurs, there will be a time of great persecution. You will be dragged into synagogues and prisons, and you will stand trial before kings and governors because you are my followers. But this will be your opportunity to tell them about me.” They will force you to renounce your faith. “So don’t worry in advance about how to answer the charges against you, for I will give you the right words and such wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to reply or reject you! Even those closest to you—your parents, brothers, relatives, and friends—will betray you. They will even kill some of you. And everyone will hate you because you are my followers. But not a hair of your head will perish! By standing firm, you will win your souls. You will earn the rights to heaven and will be saved. Do not be over arrogant or haughty for you will miss the signs and the only chance opened to you.

“And when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then you will know that the time of its destruction has arrived. Then those in Judea must run off to the hills. Those in Jerusalem must get out, and those out in the country should not return to the city. For those will be days of God’s vengeance, and the prophetic words of the Scriptures will be fulfilled. How terrible it will be for pregnant women and for nursing mothers in those days. For there will be disaster in the land and great anger against this people. They will be killed by the sword in large quantities or sent away as prisoners to all the nations of the world. And Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles until the period of the Gentiles comes to an end.

“And there will be strange signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides. Some of these things have already been taking place around us. People will be terrified at what they see coming upon the earth, for the powers in the heavens will be shaken. Then everyone will see the Son of Man coming on a cloud with power and great glory. So when all these things begin to happen, stand and look up, for your salvation is near!” Turn to your faith so that you will not miss the signs

Then he gave them this illustration: “Notice the fig tree, or any other tree. When the leaves come out, you know without being told that summer is near. In the same way, when you see all these things taking place, you can know that the Kingdom of God is near. I tell you the truth, this generation will not pass from the scene until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will never disappear.

“Watch out! Don’t let your hearts be dulled by carousing and drunkenness, and by the worries of this life. Don’t let that day catch you unaware, like a trap. Every day Jesus went to the Temple to teach, and each evening he returned to spend the night on the Mount of Olives. The crowds gathered at the Temple early each morning to hear him. They believed his words and his forth teachings as they were full filled then and they will be again in our generations. There is hope if you pay attention, listen and believe.
